The Tables of Contents in volumes 1 - 12 of this series " have been arranged in chronological order. Since this parallels the arrangement of the matter and since our editorial plan does not provide for indexes to individual volumes, the Editors, though regreting for the sake of the users that they did not anticipate at the outset the advantages and conveniences of a different form, have decided to substitute an alphabetical for a chronological order [beginning with Volume 13]."
