You use your whole body when you throw. If you want to be a good pitcher, it's important for you to get your whole body into good physical shape. Sports like hockey, skiing, basketball, soccer, and track help you get your body in shape and keep it that way. The everyday fun you have riding your bicycle, running, playing games, and doing exercises in gym classes also helps. Believe it or not, activities like ballet or karate, that work on flexibility and balance, are particularly good for pitchers. In short, stay active all year long. If you're in pretty good physical shape or have started a program to get into good physical shape, you can start getting into pitching shape.
