Gillian Blease is a freelance illustrator based in London, UK. She studied Fine Art at university and worked as an artist for a number of years. Clients include The British Council, Random House Publishing and BBC Worldwide. She is a weekly contributor to the The Guardian Newspaper. Blease has become well known for her pattern designs in recent years (regarding it as the perfect combination of discipline and freedom) and considers this strand in her career an antidote to the current affairs and contemporary issues she illustrates on a daily basis.
