Bill Loehfelm was born in Brooklyn and grew up on Staten Island. In 1997 he moved to New Orleans, where he has taught high school and college, managed a pizza joint and an antique shop, and tended bar in the French Quarter. He is the Winner of the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award, and his work has appeared in the anthologies Year Zero and Life in the Wake
