Jim Knight, a research associate at the University of Kansas Center for Research on Learning, has spent the past decade studying instructional coaching. Knight directs Pathways to Success, a districtwide instructional improvement partnership between the University of Kansas and the Topeka, Kansas, School District. He is a coauthor of Coaching Classroom Management along with Randy Sprick, Wendy Reinke, and Tricia McKale, and he has published several articles on instructional coaching in publications such as The Journal of Staff Development, Principal Leadership, and The School Administrator. Knight is frequently asked to provide professional development on instructional coaching and has presented in more than 35 states, most of the Canadian provinces, and Japan. He has also won several university teaching and leadership awards.
