d104> Joyce Lamont received as many as 10,000 letters monthly while a broadcaster at WCCO Radio, even though she initially went on air only because the station's director needed a woman's voice for promos--and she was the only woman in the studio. In over fifty years as the voice of "Dayton's Musical Chimes" and other programs, she worked with many of the best-known Minnesota broadcasters, including Howard Viken, Charlie Boone, Roger Erickson, Chuck Lilligren, and Sid Hartman. She moved to Minneapolis-Saint Paul's KLBB radio in 1989. Ms. Lamont was inducted into the Museum of Broadcasting Hall of Fame in 2001. She lives in Minneapolis.
Linda Larsen is a professional home economist who has created and tested recipes for major food companies like Pillsbury and Malt-O-Meal since 1987. She is the Guide for Busy Cooks at About.com. Her cookbooks include Everything Meals for a Month and Everything Tex Mex Cooking. She lives in Minneapolis.
