This book gives the reader the fundamentals of air pollution equipment with the appropriate applications to provide an introduction to design principles. After two introductory chapters the next first four chapters examine control equipment for gaseous pollutants including adsorption, absorption, and incineration. The last six chapters are devoted to gravity settlers, cyclones, electrostatic precipitators, scrubbers, and baghouses. Each chapter contains problems dealing with performance equations, operation, maintenance and recent developments. Throughout the book, the problems are laid out with the more difficult problems located at or the near the end of each problem set. Once the reader understands the problems and solutions presented in the text, they will better understand the factors affecting the design, operation, and performance air pollution control equipment.
