James Marshall (1942-1992) is one of the most popular and celebrated artists in the field of children's literature. He received a Caldecott Honor Award in 1989 for Goldilocks and the Three Bears. In 2007 he was awarded the Laura Ingalls Wilder Medal for his lasting contribution to literature for children.
