Toby J. Karten has been involved in the field of special education for since 1976 and has worked with children and adults in elementary through graduate levels. Developer of a graduate course on disability awareness, Karten has presented at local, state, and national workshops and conferences and has served as a resource center teacher in New Jersey. She has an undergraduate degree in special education from Brooklyn College, a master’s degree from the College of Staten Island, and a supervisory degree from Georgian Court College.
