This study examines know-how agreements from the perspective of competition law. It focuses on EEC law, particularly the block exemption included in Regulation 556/89 of the EEC Commission. EEC law is compared with the competition law in this area in other jurisdictions, specially the USA. The legal protection of know-how and its background as well as the main issues of the contract law applicable to know-how transactions are treated in detail. In addition, the book considers the EEC's competition policy with regard to know-how licensing agreements.
