Dan Brown is a graduate of, and has taught English at, Phillips Exeter Academy. Digital Fortress was inspired by the sudden presence of FBI agents on the Exeter campus because of a reported national security threat -- two students had sent an e-mail back and forth saying that Bill Clinton was a liar and should be shot. He is the bestselling author of The Da Vinci Code, Angels & Demons, and Deception Point. He lives in New England with his wife.
