Gray2s Journal kept during his visit to the Lakes in October 1769 was originally written in a notebook and then copied into letters to his friend, Dr. Thomas Wharton. It has never been published before as a separate entity, though it does appear as an appendix to reprints of West2s Guide (Woodstock). This edition includes engravings by Joseph Farington of views from Gray2s route.
