Alma Flor Ada's children's books have appeared in Spain, Mexico, Argentina, and Peru, as well as the United States. Among her many works in English are picture books such as The Malachite Palace, Dear Peter Rabbit, and Yours Truly, Goldilocks and longer works such as the autobiographical Where the Flame Trees Bloom and Under the Royal Palms: A Childhood in Cuba. Dr. Ada is a professor of multicultural education at the University of San Francisco. She has four children and makes her home in San Francisco, California.
